Hope you don't mind this feedback.

I'd suggest that if you are asking people to give up their time to complete surveys then it's adviseable to make it as easy as possible for them to do so.

Time is a premium.

There are lots of free web2 sites that allow you to set up your questions online ... there is a list at
http://www.shambles.net/pages/learning/ict/surveys/
Including Google forms.

If you put your questions online is a more user friendly version then I'd be more than happy to answer them ....

After all ... your are targeting Tech Savvy people ... so lets walk the walk and talk the talk.

Hope you see this as constructive ....

Chris,

Hello, I will send you the questions now. If you decide that you want to fill them in you can send them back to my separate email address at paulabarbato707@hotmail.com

There is no immediate rush for the answers so don't feel that you need have to fill them in immediately.

There are no right or wrong answers. If you choose to take part in my online interview could you please read the statements below please?

I understand that my participation in this project will involve completing an online interview about my everyday life information seeking behaviours in regards to this particular social network and my interaction with others within SL

I understand that my participation in this study is entirely voluntary and that I can withdraw from the study at any time without giving a reason.

I understand that the information provided by me will be totally confidential and used solely for the purposes of research.

I understand that I am free to ask any questions at any time and am free to discuss my concerns at any time

I agree that by completing this online interview I am giving my consent for the data I have provided to be used for the process of research. I also understand that at the end of the study I will be provided with additional information with feedback about the purpose of this study.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for replying so promply. My name is Paula Barbato and I am currently studying for my MSc dissertation in Information & Library Studies at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth. I also work full time at the University of Goldsmiths, in London.

As part of my degree I am undertaking a research project under the supervision of Dr Allen Foster. My degree aims to explore the everyday life Information behaviours of Information Professionals within this particular social networking site. I am trying to get as many individuals as possible from all walks of life who are present within this social network and are also quite active within SeondLife itself.

The study and subsequent research involves taking part in an asynchronous Interview of twnety one questions which you can fill in at your own pace. The questions asked are about Information seeking practices within this various social networks (but mainly pertaining to this one) and the different kinds of Information sources which allow particpants in this network to communicate with each other.

If you think that you may be interested in taking part please let me know.

Once again many thanks for your reply
