- Native Californian. Grew up in Hayward, Calif. Graduated with B.A. from University of Kansas in 1975; MLS from Emporia State University in 1977. Worked in public, academic and state agency libraries. Have been at the State Library of Kansas since 1983. Started out at State Library in Interlibrary Loan and then moved onto Cataloging/State Publications in 1986. Married to Diana (SL name: Cindy Elkhart). Have had four children. Lost the youngest to leukemia in 2000. Member of The Compassionate Friends, Episcopal Church, Beta Phi Moooooooo. I'm not free but I will do just about anything legal for a bag of M&Ms.
